My brother, who works at an auction house, comes across a lot of random finds. This week has been no different, the only difference is that instead of him buying things at the sale I ended up buying what I (and my mum) think is a great buy.
An old department store in Reading closed at Christmas which is rather a shame due to the nature of this department store. It's not a department store as we imagine, but one which hasn't changed a bit over time, there's still no tills but instead a crazy harry potter style cash system which runs through tunnels around the whole building to the banking room.
Anyway, a fascinating store called Jacksons Corner in Reading, back to my purchase... In the department store was a haberdashery department, you can now see where this is going. So i decided to leave some bids with my brother and low and behold yesterday he rings up to ask where I wanted my whole stand of threads. I keep running out of different colour threads but. the problem now maybe where to store the threads? This idea seems ideal from "the creative homemaker' website:
