Ever year I write down what I would like to achieve from the year, but this year my goals don't seem as clear as they have been. Having finished studying Architecture after a diploma fashion I have an abundance of creative juices flowing round my brain constantly, yet where I fit this into the world seems a little less obvious.
Since graduating, within a few weeks I took on a temporary position working with InDesign in London. This led me to move back to London (which was one of my goals last year). Whilst looking for a permeant job I stumbled upon People Per Hour, PPH helped me make a little money doing something I love to tie me over until I found a permanent position. As time went on it proved to be a great success which ended up in me becoming a freelance pattern cutter and seamstress which is where I am at today. Each project I have taken on has been completely different from 50 tote bags for a market stall to a small collection of 3 outfits. It has been inspirational seeing what other people have come up with as well as an eye opener to myself, knowing that what I love doing is useful to others. I can aid others to make their projects come alive.
So.. back to this, I have decided to start a blog to document all the projects I have done/am doing as well as to organise my thoughts. My mind is constantly buzzing with creative ideas and I feel this is a good way to document my inspiration and projects. I shall also begin to archive previous projects so I have a complete record of all my work.. This make take a while and a lot of routing though the loft, drawers and friends houses but I think it'll be very rewarding to see the progression of my work from a young age through to my current projects.
Although in my mind this is for myself and I don't really expect anyone else to look at it, if I inspire others along the way that would be incredible. If anyone does look at it and want to leave their thoughts or ask any questions that would be very much appreciated.
So . . . . let the creative juices flow . . .
